Basically you can have any of our School climbing walls built at your school. This will depend on your budget and the area that you have available to site a climbing wall.

We take an unused wall in a playground or gymnasium and transform it into a valuable resource for your pupil’s development. These Playground Climbing Walls help children develop coordination, teamwork, problem- solving skills, trust, balance, strength and confidence. Such a resource can help develop an interest in the wider world of outdoor adventures.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
It is imperative that School Climbing Walls are operated in accordance with best practice within the industry and that current legislation is adhered to. We will guide you through this and provide you with the services of a leading provider in climbing wall operational and management procedures. These will conform to current NGB guidelines and will be delivered by those holding the Mountain Instructor Award (MIA).

SCHOOL TRAVERSING WALLS: Inexpensive low height climbing walls suitable for enhancing gymnasiums or underutilised school playgrounds. No safety flooring required.

SCHOOL BOULDERING WALLS: Low height climbing above a specially built padded surface. Usually incorporating a variety of overhanging angles. This is a great way to challenge your School children.

SCHOOL ROPED WALLS: Larger walls with safety ropes, requiring trained staff. Suitable for all abilities of users thanks to the design criteria agreed during our consultation process.

SCHOOL CLIMBING WALLS AND ABSEILING TOWERS: These are ideal for complimenting any organisation’s wish to provide outdoor education facilities. They can be a fun and challenging resource.

NICAS:
The National Climbing Wall Achievement Scheme is a UK wide scheme designed to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement on artificial climbing structures. It can be used as a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering and is easily integrated into school climbing walls.

The scheme comprises five levels of award aimed at complete novices to expert climbers:

1. Foundation Climber – an entry level aimed at novices that recognises their ability to climb safely under supervision
2. Top Rope Climber –aimed at promoting good practice in climbing and bouldering unsupervised on an artificial wall
3. Technical climber – a more advanced top roping and bouldering level that focuses on developing technique and movement skills
4. Lead climber - concentrates on the skills required to both lead climb and belay a lead climber
5. Advanced climber – the top level that focuses on improving performance, a deeper understanding of climbing systems and the wider world of climbing A quotation for this cost effective package can be provided upon request.
