Why climbing?

Climbing is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and worldwide and will be recognised as an Olympic Sport for the first time in the 2020 Olympics.

Climbing enables children and young adults to learn planning, problem solving and goal setting skills that transfer into the classroom. It can help increase the pupils self-confidence, discipline, attention span, concentration and task focus, which can be especially beneficial to children on the autistic spectrum who often have more sensory needs than other children.

Climbing can be an excellent activity for pupils with mental or physical challenges; it has been shown to improve spatial perception, balance and hand eye coordination.

Climbing and traversing are one of those great sports which challenge the individual to really better themselves. While mainly seen as an individual sport, groups of climbers, young and old, always work together to help each other achieve their goals.

Traversing climbing walls have a high level of safety and the risk of injury is very low, making it an excellent gateway sport for the more nervous or aspiring athletes.

I was highly impressed with the work of Climbing Wall Solutions from our first interaction to the completion of the project. Their communication was excellent and the project ran very smoothly. The final result is brilliant; all of our primary aged children are challenged by the colour coded climbing routes and the wall has become a very popular addition to the play activities on offer at Northleaze. I would recommend any school looking at installing a climbing wall to consider Climbing Wall Solutions as our experience was first-class!”
Steve Davis, Northleaze Primary School
We have found many of our visitors who come to the school are amazed at the climbing walls. They have had a massive impact improving our children’s coordination skills and helping increase self-esteem. It is one of the best investments and we would argue extremely good value for money. The service has been outstanding and the quality of the product is exemplary. If you want something with a ‘wow factor’ the climbing walls have these in ‘spades’. I would suggest this is a great product for a PTFA or equivalent to raise funds for a school”
